   Hello, my name is Rosetta Racco, I am a neuro affirming registered psychotherapist for individuals and families and I also identify as neurodivergent myself.  I have extensive experience of working with children, adolescents and autistics of all ages for the last 30 years.  
    In the last 8 years I have been seeing individuals and families in the capacity of a psychotherapist in my private practice Just Be You Therapy and I provide treatment sessions, on a one-to-one basis with individuals and families as parent sessions.                                                        Seasonally, I teach at a university as a professor in Early Childhood Trauma and Mental Health, and I have taught ECE and Psychology courses as an College Professor as well.  Throughout my career I have held many diverse professional positions, which have included Behavior Therapist, Infant Mental Health & Family Counsellor, Resource Consultant for the Ministry of Youth & Children at a University setting, Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, Instructor Therapist, School Readiness Lead Facilitator, Child Specialist with Young Homeless Mothers and support group facilitator for families and children with special needs. I have also worked abroad in Mozambique, Africa and Dubai, UAE with children, youth and families. I have also worked as a certified yoga instructor with individuals, youth, babies and moms.                                                                                         
     I am also an Autism Consultant providing services to professionals in a variety of environments.
  
Services: Individual Psychotherapy: ASD, ADHD, OCD, Childhood Trauma, Attachment, Transgender Teens, LBTQ2S+, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Dysmorphia, Social & Emotional Regulation, Communication, Relationship Skills, Learning Disabilities, and Executive Functioning Skills.


Treatment Approach: I use a personalized approach with each individual and family, which  includes psychodynamic psychotherapy, the use of assessment tools, individual interviews, child developmental and adult history, attachment theories, relational theory, sensorimotor activities, play-based therapy, art-based therapy, visuals, CBT, DBT and mindfulness techniques.

"I have successfully been working with children with autism and I have a high success rate of improving children's social and communication skills. I can share many examples where children have said their first words, began imagination play, expressed their needs and desires through my therapy. Some of my techniques include the use of music, action-songs, books, pecs, visuals, expression of feelings, repetition, labelling, highly preferred items, positive feedback and offering choices.


I have also been able to run social and communications skills support groups for children and parents that have been implemented as best practices amongst many organizations."
